Salomon XT-6
Created in 1947 in Annecy by Georges Salomon, this brand from the Savoy region first focused on mountain sports such as skiing before turning to trail running in the 2000s. Since then it has kept on specialising until it became the benchmark in the field.
The perfect illustration of Salomon's expertise in the field is, we can easily say, the Salomon XT-6. This pair has proved its worth on steep paths and has now taken over the wide tarmac streets where sneaker addicts walk, thanks in particular to the rise of the Gorpcoretrend.
The technical features of the Salomon XT-6
Launched in 2013 by Salomon, the XT-6 is a global benchmark of ultra-distance running. Much appreciated by various top-level athletes, this silhouette has everything to get you across the finish line in the leading pack.
Designed to meet the needs of trail enthusiasts and seasoned runners alike, the Salomon XT-6 also offers a trend-led design that lets it find its way into the wardrobe of the sharpest fashion fans. On performance, this model is built in hard-wearing mesh for a very light construction perfectly suited to athletes; it is also covered with a TPU film to face the environmental factors that might weaken it. It was imagined to last over time despite contact with rocks, dirt paths or steep mountain slopes.
The Salomon XT-6 hides a sole full of resources. Built in EVA foam, it offers very comfortable cushioning. Hard-wearing, it is made to protect the foot and to help absorb the shocks caused by jumps onto rocks or by running on particular surfaces, such as cobblestones. Another important feature of the sole: the ACS chassis, meaning the base on which the foot rests, under the insole. Developed by the French brand, it works with the lugs to deliver very strong stability, above all on long-distance runs or on descents.
What to wear with Salomon XT-6?
The Salomon XT-6 is the pair for those who fear nothing. Designed at first for trail races and ultra-distance, it has since won over the fashionistas , who have made it a pair of choice. A unisex silhouette, it has the advantage, thanks notably to its wide range of colours, of fitting just as well into the women's sneakers category as into the men's sneakersone.
Among the most on-trend sneakers , the Salomon XT-6 can be worn with just about anything. There is no rule, so far does it stray from the beaten track. But where it will perhaps make the most impact is surely with fairly loose trousers in a cargo style, for a casual look. And if it is not to wear on the rugged paths of Chamonix, it will also make the difference worn with a jogging set, combining cosy and gorpcore. A bonus for the quick lacing system, which will save time for anyone tired of tying their laces.
