Adidas Gazelle
A historic model of the Adidascatalogue, the Forum Low came to light in 1984. Designed for playing basketball, it quickly established itself on the courts as the most innovative pair of its time.
After the courts, the Forum Low managed to make a place for itself in the street as well. Since its creation, it has regularly been the fruit of collaborations, as with Jeremy Scott or Prada. It was in 2021 that it was brought back to the front of the stage, before rising to the top of the trends in 2023 thanks to its retro look , very much in vogue.
A design made in France for an Adidas trainer built for basketball
In 1983, it was the French designer Jacques Chassaing who imagined the silhouette of the Forum, which would become one of the most emblematic sneakers of Adidas. At first, the Forum was designed for basketball. It was in fact on the basketball courts that it would meet with its first successes, notably on the feet of a certain Michael Jordan just before his signing with Nike.
Jacques Chassaing had spent several months getting close to coaches and players in order to learn how to deliver a pair able to suit a whole team, taking into account the physical differences and the roles of the various players. That is how the reinforcement strap came to be added at the ankle, in the image of the bandages used in sports medicine.
How to wear Adidas Forum Low?
The Forum Low lends itself to many collaborations. You find it just as much in the men's sneakers category as in women's sneakers. The vintage accents of this model offer endless outfit possibilities. It can be worn with a tracksuit for a more relaxed look, with oversized jeans or with skirts and dresses for a preppy style.
What is the difference between the Adidas Forum Low and Mid?
The Forum is the first basketball silhouette of Adidas offered in three versions: high, mid and low. The main difference between the mid and low versions of the Forum is the height to which the shoe rises. Where on the low the silhouette stops at the ankle, it goes a little higher on the mid version.
