YEEZY 700, THE DAD SHOE PAR EXCELLENCE
THE RESULT OF A LONG COLLABORATION
The Yeezy 700 is the fifth model created by Kanye West for his brand Yeezy. The story began in 2015, when the rapper/producer collaborated with Adidas to create his brand and release his own models of sneakers. Following the 750, 350, 950, and 350 V2 models, the Yeezy 700 was released in August 2017.
This new silhouette was unveiled during the Yeezy Season 5 show. Kanye West drew inspiration from the “dad shoe” trend. These shoes have a running and wide look, reminiscent of the sneakers from the 90s worn by American dads. Developed and designed by Ye, the design of the Yeezy 700 features a mesh and suede base. The sole is equipped with Boost technology, designed by Adidas.
THE MOST POPULAR CHUNKY SNEAKERS
Considered too kitsch by many men and women who are fans of sneakers, the design of this pair of sneakers has been the subject of much controversy. Completely breaking with the design of the Yeezy 350, this sneaker takes its lines from jet-ski designs. The name Wave Runner is in fact a direct reference to this artistic choice.
Despite everything, this chunky sneaker has become one of the most popular sneakers of recent years. The shoe has been released in two versions and several colorways; Wave Runner, Mauve, Static, etc... New colorways are planned for 2019! YEEZY 700 V1, V2, V3
Released exclusively on Yeezy Supply for the launch of the Yeezy Season 5 collection and delivered during November 2017, the first Yeezy 700 Wave Runner OG made a mark on the fashion scene as well as among fans of sneakers. Arriving like a UFO, this Dad Shoes has established itself as a reference thanks to its color combination with “acid yellow” laces, its mix of materials, and its futuristic sole. It has been released in many minimalist and effective colorways such as the Yeezy 700 Analog or the Yeezy 700 Utility Black. But as always, the visionary Kanye West was able to draw from his resources to give it a second wind with a second version, the Yeezy 700 V2. Through a beautiful minimalist colorway called static, we saw this second version unveiled. More technical than its predecessor, it features a redesigned cage with the appearance of the 3 Adidas stripes forming a wave shape. Many colorways have been released, notably with a stunning Yeezy 700 Intertia V2 or the Vanta. But who would have thought this model wouldn’t stop there? The founder of the Yeezy label would shock the entire world by dropping a V3 just before the end of 2019.
The Yeezy 700 V3 Azael makes its debut in a black and cream colorway that can match even the most understated outfits and is sure to please both men and women. With a futuristic and avant-garde design similar to the Yeezy 380, it features a cream white cage that is glow in the dark, revealing a wolf grey colorway. Kanye West promised us, the price is lower than previous models. This is due to the integration of an older technology, the adiPRENE, which is also present on other Yeezy models like the Yeezy 500 and EVA components as seen on the famous Yeezy Slide. You get the idea, this silhouette still has a bright future ahead. So there’s only one question left to ask: how far will Kanye West go?
