Air Jordan 4
AIR JORDAN 4, A CLASSIC SIGNED BY JORDAN BRAND
THE AIR JORDAN 4, AN ICONIC MODEL
This is one of the Air Jordan most coveted by collectors and sneakers enthusiasts, alongside the legendary Air Jordan 1. Over the years, this model has achieved must-have status and has become a true reference in the genre! Unlike the first model in the range, it does not come in higher or lower versions as seen with the Air Jordan 1 Mid and its big sister, the Air Jordan 1 High.
After the undeniable critical and commercial success of the Air Jordan 3 silhouette, the brand with the Jumpman was looking for a new hit. Bringing together the same team behind the revolution that was the AJ3, Tinker Hatfield and Nike/Jordan designed the Air Jordan 4 or Air Jordan IV in 1989. The pair was designed directly based on the needs of Michael Jordan on the court. Indeed, at the peak of his career, the "G.O.A.T." wanted to go even further. The aerodynamic design of the AJ4 and its construction were born from the need for performance of "His Airness." Flexibility, breathability, freedom of movement, and comfort were the key words in Hatfield's creative vision.
And the silhouette remains at the heart of sneakers trends, with the re-release of retro models such as the Air Jordan 4 Military Blue and the Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined, inspired by the colorways that made the legend of the Jordan 4.
A ROBUST SNEAKER WITH PREMIUM MATERIALS
The pair features a nubuck leather upper combined with mesh, a first at the time! Plastic pieces are also used to support the ankle and heel, reinforcing foot security and support. You’ll find the Jumpman logo, which appeared on the Jordan 3, with the inscription Flight added to the design. At the peak of his game, it was with his Jordan IV that the Bulls' number 23 finished as the NBA's top scorer for the third consecutive year. The pair also entered legend thanks to the famous "The Shot," the basket over Craig Ehlo during the 1989 Playoffs.
The Air Jordan 4 would also make its mark on the streets and in culture thanks to director Spike Lee , who featured the pair in several of his films. It is one of the sneakers that made a mark in cinema, just like the Air Jordan 11 in the movie "He Got Game" with Denzel Washington. He also produced a series of commercials in collaboration with Nike for the model, cementing its status as a true legend once and for all.
REIMAGINED WITH EXCLUSIVE COLLABORATIONS
To amplify its influence, this sneaker also relies on its ever-stronger collaborations. Among them is the collaboration with the world-renowned artist Kaws. The New York street artist once again brings his signature touch by elevating this model. You’ll find grey suede overlays, the iconic Kaws XX signature on the heel, and a stunning Glow in The Dark translucent sole to complete this gem. Finally, in standout collaborations, the most influential rapper of the moment Travis Scott brings us his "Astroworld" version with an electric blue colorway. There’s a translucent sole and the famous cactus Jack logo on the heel, making this pair one of the hottest releases of the last 10 years.
More recently, Jordan continues to reissue iconic models. Among them is the legendary Air Jordan 4 Retro White Cement, originally released in 1989. Summer variations like the Air Jordan 4 Forget Me Not, Sail Metallic Gold, and Military Blue are still making waves!
