Nike Air Force 1 Drop Type
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 DROP TYPE, A REVISITING OF THE EMBLEMATIC MODEL
NIKE REVISITS A TIMELESS CLASSIC
The Nike Air Force 1 Drop Type has just recently been added to the catalogue of the brand with the Swoosh, which is revisiting its most emblematic silhouette, originally imagined by Bruce Kilgore in 1982. With a clever blend of restraint and technical detail, the Nike Air Force 1 was one of the first models built with a sole benefiting from the Nike AIRtechnology, a revolution in the world of sport.
A true benchmark in the world of the sneaker and more broadly in the world of fashion, the Air Force 1 has been reinvented in hundreds of versions to which different colours, different materials and the brand's latest technologies have been applied, such as Flyknit or Flywire for example. This model has also been offered through many collaborations, notably of late with the Off-Whiteversions. With the Air Force 1 Drop Type, Nike takes up the codes of its emblematic silhouette while offering a completely new deconstructed shape, a perfect choice for fans of the model who appreciate restraint but also the small details that make the difference.
CREATION OF THE N.354 LINE
The N.354 line, released alongside the THE10TH and D/MS/Xlines, is a recent Nike creation offering models that celebrate the heritage of the brand with the Swoosh. The Air Force 1 Drop Type is part of this collection, which draws on the American brand's archives to offer new concepts. By studying its many prototypes and samples, Nike also draws on the present and the future to offer new models with a futuristic design. The creative process of this line, based on the reconstruction and assembly of different elements, calls to mind the one used in the brand's collaborations with Off-White and Sacai.
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 DROP TYPE, A REINVENTED DESIGN
The Air Force 1 Drop Type takes up the silhouette of the emblematic 1982 model while building in deconstructed and futuristic details, almost giving the impression that the pair was made by hand. This new model is built entirely in leather apart from the inner side of the foot, which is made up of the Flywiretechnological covering. This material allows good support of the foot thanks to the use of Vectran filaments and a transparency that lets you glimpse the swoosh, for a forward-thinking design. Still with the aim of offering a deconstructed silhouette, a velcro strap hugs the contour of the heel.
The Whiteversion, released in July 2019, was the first Air Force 1 Low Drop Type of the N.354 collection to come out. Faced with its very strong popularity, the Black version was then revealed, followed in October 2019 by three other versions as well received as the previous ones: the Triple Black, the White Black Volt and the White Gold, all available on Wethenew.
