AIR FORCE 1 SHADOW: THE NEW MODEL FROM NIKE
A CLASSIC REINVENTED
The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow is a model that takes up the codes of the most emblematic silhouette at Nike : the well-known Nike Air Force 1. This model was one of the first to use soles fitted with the Nike AIRcushioning system, still unheard of and revolutionary at the time of its release. It was in fact the first basketball shoe fitted with this technology. Created by Bruce Kilgore in 1982, this pair is a clever blend of restraint and technical detail; today it comes in many colourways but also through different collaborations, such as the Nike Air Force 1 Low Off-White Black or the Nike Air Force 1 Low Fossil Travis Scott. The iconic model from Nike is reinvented today in a version aimed mainly at women.
A TRAINER WITH A DECONSTRUCTED BUILD AND REWORKED DETAILS
While taking up the DNA of the original model, the silhouette of the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow aims to be simple and effective but carries a few previously unseen details. This new model takes up a deconstructed and layeredconstruction, widely used of late, which we have seen notably on the brand's unavoidable collaborations such as Nike Sacai and Nike Off-White. You can make out in particular extra stitching, a double swoosh as well as a double AIR and NIKE tag, which give the model relief, reinforced by the juxtaposition of shades on the colourful versions. The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow also plays with proportions with a slightly oversized midsole. According to the creative director of Nike Women's Footwear, Georgina James, the idea is to stir new emotions through the revisiting of the classic silhouette, its shapes and its details. First presented in a pack of four versions, which includes notably the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Pale Ivory, which met with clear success, the model was then offered in other colourways and will no doubt continue to be in the months to come.
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 SHADOW FOR WOMEN: FEMININE AND COLOURFUL
More than just a new model, the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow was created to celebrate women and their strengths. “We know that women are infinitely different. They want something unique and choose their clothing, accessories and sneakers as an expression of themselves in order to assert who they are. They also have a deep affection for the AF1 icon,” Georgina James said. To appeal to as many people as possible, Nike has imagined restrained models such as the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Triple White and the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Triple Black, both in a monochrome design, which stand as an evolution of the original silhouette. More original and more colourful models are also available, such as the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Mystic Navy which carries blue, pink, red and green, but also the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Barely Volt Oracle Aqua which is made up of navy blue, green, yellow, grey and pink. With its emblematic shape, its light comfort and its layered look, the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow is the feminine pair par excellence, like the Air Force 1 Pixel.
